I don't know about you people, but I have a friend who doesn't like the word "lol", saying that it is not nice. I've asked my friend "why" lots of times, but the reply wasn't actually constructive.
And guess what? I'm bored. That's why I did a little bit of research on why people dislike the word "lol".
Out of all the websites I looked through, menga.net has the most "interesting" article which practically pisses people off. menga.net states that the usage of "lol" makes you seem awfully stupid and retarded. He/she went on to state that "Every single person I've ever met in real life that has usedLOL in internet chat prior cannot communicate properly. They stumble over their own words and can't form coherent sentences". Well I've used "lol" lots, and I can communicate perfectly.
The website went on to state that "Intelligent users hate LOL so much that they actually make fun of the idiots who use it by speaking in what's called "a dramatic reading".

The usage of "lol" does not determine one's IQ, and the writer's deliberate spelling mistakes in the first line of the conversation just implies that he/she is a trying a bit too hard to express the "retarded-ness'' of the "lol-user". Furthermore, the use of dramatic language by the "Dramatic Reader" makes him/her seem more retarded due to the overuse of drama in his/her language. One last thing, not all "lol-users'' are as retarded as you think, logging off whenever someone uses language of a bit higher standard. Please.

quora.com stated that the usage of "lol" makes conversations seem fake, which I kinda agree. There was a meme which stated that 99% of the time people type "lol" without even blinking their eyes. No facial expression at all.
