“Friends work
with you to achieve impossible dreams.”
I read that
verse from a book, and has found it really applicable to daily life, especially
in the process of growing up and making friends. There will be many people who
you will meet in your life, some good and some bad. With those good people, you
become friends with them, going through thick and thin together. With those bad
ones, you leave them behind as you continue on, walking forward in life.
Even best
friends tend to have arguments at times, no one is perfectly argument-free.
Some will break away, slowly fading into the dark. Some will continue on,
fighting by your side, believing that there is still hope that we could make it
out of this mess. Those that fought hard times with you, are your true friends,
those that are there when you need them, those that never betray you, and those
that are willing to share your pain with them.
However, these
true friends of yours, will also tend to slowly fade away as life picks up its
pace, and it would leave you with tiny pockets of time, to be spent with your
friends. And, when you grow older, as white hair starts popping out of your
head, do you still remember who your friends are? Most likely not. So, we must
treasure the time spent with our friends, knowing that years later, they might
not be there for you anymore.
Although time is
slowly slipping away from your grasp, second by second, and friends will also
become strangers, but most importantly, secure the memories.
